When Coverage Begins
Officers and Directors
Most benefits become effective on your date of hire. You can enroll in benefits up to 30 days following your date of hire.
All Other Full-time Partners
Most benefits become effective on the first of the month following 60 days from your date of hire. You can enroll in benefits up to the date your benefits become effective. If your status changes from part time to full time, benefits become effective on the first of the month following 60 days from the date of your change in status.
401(k) plan participation
You become eligible for the 401(k) plan on the first day of the month following six months of service during which you worked at least 500 hours. You must be at least 21 years old to participate.

Dependent coverage begins at the same time your coverage begins. You are responsible for making sure your covered dependents are eligible to be covered under Petco plans.
If you enroll in medical coverage or the Delta Dental HMO, you will receive your ID cards within 4 to 6 weeks after you enroll.
You will not receive ID cards if you enroll in the Standard Dental Plan, Enhanced Dental Plan or either vision plan through VSP.
